These books are also translated into various languages and have seen multiple editions. Homer’s Odyssey written in 8th century BC has been translated to 250 languages, and 902 editions have been published. 45 million copies are sold till date. Next is the Holy Quran with over 3 Billion publications, and 50 translations. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare has seen 902 editions, with 80 translations and never has been copyrighted.
Other books include The King James Bible with 1193 editions, 66 translations, Don Quixote, with 963 editions, and 35 translations, Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, with 100 translations and 1039 editions, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice with1480 editions and 20 million copies are sold, Charles Dickens’, A Tale of Two Cities, with889 editions and 200 million copies sold, Alice in Wonderland, which has 1513 editions and 100 million copies are sold, Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, with 65 translations and 705 editions and the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which has 60 translations and 60 million copies sold. Other more popular books include Hans Christen Andersen’s Fairy Tales, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Margaret Mitchel’s Gone with the Wind, Agatha Christie’s And then there were none, C. S Lewis’ The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, J.k Rowling’s Harry Potter, and Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code.
